This is a personal piece I wanted to paint for a long time. Some artists like to paint "out in the wild" to study architecture or people. I like nothing more than to sit in Cafes, sipping some coffee and just watch people and draw them. It´s good practice and you learn a lot. You try to be unobtrusive (like wearing sunglasses in summer :) ), but sometimes you get caught staring at people :) Most are just irritated, some even come over and talk when they realize you´re drawing and some just smile back. I myself get irritated a bit, when I realize that I got caught :) But in all my years doing that, I`ve never had a single negative reaction! (which shows that there are not only crazy people out there) A big thanks to all those "unvoluntary victims" helping me getting better at art!
I also set this to an alternate version of "The Milkman" cafe in Edinburgh, because ... Scotland, I just love it. I enlarged it a bit to tell the story right though. Oh and I set it to a snowy winter as we didn´t have a lot of snow in my hometown this year. Bummer!
